Following the launch of my new Heels Collection I am looking forward to celebrating yet another amazing milestone - French Sole is nearing it's thirtieth year!
I first met Barbara Hulanicki fifty years ago.
To celebrate Christmas and the New Year I thought it would be fun to have a Christmas raffle competition, which will give all the entrants a great opportunity to win one of three great prizes!
This year has flown by. For me it has been a fun filled time - a new grandson Stanley was born, my mother celebrated her 92nd birthday and with my American grandchildren and family and all the other grandchildren we spent a blissfully happy summer. I have no complaints about the English weather - I simply love it. Summer in England for me is magical - my garden is gorgeous and in August, London is empty and parking plentiful and easy. I even love the winters here - I wear fur!
Welcome back to London Sole - we are all very excited to be back on-line with our classic British designed, all European Ballet Flats and Moochers.
The French Sole team are all in Shanghai for the next couple of weeks showing our wonderful Spring and Summer 2016 collection of shoes to the super fashionable and most discerning of Asia’s fashion buyers, press and fashion bloggers.
This Summer has been truly wonderful and now Autumn is approaching fast and it’s time to think about winter boots and party shoes.
Happy Christmas to you all, As this amazing year of Celebrations for the Twenty Fifth Anniversary of French Sole draws to a close…
Competition is now closed French Sole celebrates Twenty Five gloriously happy years in business this year. It is very hard to believe that from a few humble and simple ballet flats, sold to friends from my dining room table back in 1989 in aid of the NSPCC charity, that this enormously successful global brand name has since evolved.
Charity work has always interested and inspired me, even from a very young age I would happily give away my last penny to the Church collection plate or to any street collector who waved a charity tin in my direction.
It has been almost two months now that I have been residing in my home in California. I have been soaking in the sunshine as much as I can, and the Santa Monica beach is my go-to spot for relaxation. The longer I stay here the more and more fascinated I become with the Californian lifestyle.
It’s hard to believe that this year celebrates my twenty fifth year at French Sole and so we decided to make a big splash by investing in a big budget photo shoot here in wonderful sunny California where I have a home.
Christmas is now firmly upon us and the year is drawing to a close…
Just over two years ago, French Sole found themselves with a huge warehouse full of over-ordered stock, end of lines, discontinued styles, factory samples and hundreds of press sample shoes!! What on earth were we to do with it all?
Two weeks ago on a Tuesday evening our worst nightmare occurred in our lovely Mayfair showroom and offices.
Fire had broken out deep within the cavity space between two walls, it was only because the smoke and heat was so intense that the girls downstairs in our store were alerted and able to call the Fire Brigade.
Firemen from three stations were on the scene with four engines within minutes of our call. This was the night before their day of action on the Wednesday.
They were due to go off shift but without hesitation, they were there and they saved our building from total and complete devastation and destruction.
August is here at last and the weather is completely gorgeous.
This month sees the opening of my two latest French Sole stores located in Manilla and Beijing…
I was invited by the English National Ballet to a spectacular night at The Dorchester Hotel on March 12th to watch performances to raise money for this wonderful Ballet Company.
This week I was invited to lunch at Clarence House by The Prince’s Trust to discuss a brilliant new initiative by the Prince called The Enterprise Fellowship. The idea is to help, support and mentor young adults from the most disadvantaged backgrounds to start new lives and new jobs or careers.
Today I took a party of 30 children and their families from my Starlight charity to see a performance by the English National Ballet of The Nutcracker - my second visit in a week and I am seeing it twice more before it finishes the run on December 30th - the day was perfect and magical.
Last week saw the press launch of my new collection for French Sole…
I always feel at home in Chelsea! As well as spending my youth hanging out there during the ‘swinging sixties’....until recently I lived there. I also have a store on the Kings Road - so popping back up there to a charity night for Starlight was a pleasure!
It just wouldn’t be Christmas without seeing a ballet and what better event to go to than the Gala First Night of the English National Ballet’s amazing production of The Nutcracker…
